Doing Business in Israel WorkshopWorld Trade & Convention Centre, Ste 304, HalifaxThis October the Premier of Nova Scotia will lead a delegation of companies and partners to Israel to explore growth opportunities and potential business partnerships between the two regions.
In advance of the mission, Nova Scotia Business Inc. is hosting a workshop for Nova Scotia companies interested in learning more about Israel’s culture, business needs and opportunities.
Nova Scotia and Israel are similar in that they have small populations rooted in strong post-secondary education and are focused on building knowledge-based sectors. Israel has successfully leveraged these shared attributes to create a business culture of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurial thinking.

The workshop will feature two guest speakers followed by a Question and Answer period.
Jon Goldberg is Executive Director of the Atlantic Jewish Council and serves the Jewish community both here, in Nova Scotia, and in Israel. Domestically, the Atlantic Jewish Council enhances the quality of Jewish life in Atlantic Canada and promotes the activities of Jewish communities in the Atlantic region. Internationally the council supports the long-term viability of Israel as a secure and prosperous state. Mr. Goldberg will provide a brief history of Israel, an overview of Israeli culture and some considerations for doing business in this country.
Jonathan Levy was appointed as Israel’s Consul for Economic Affairs & Trade Commissioner to Canada in 2007. Mr. Levy brings many years of trade relations experience to the Israel Economic Mission in Canada, and has served in various positions within Israel’s Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labour, both in Israel and abroad. Mr. Levy will talk about the Israeli economy and key sectors of opportunity in Israel for Nova Scotia businesses.
