dance party today at 5 pm!

by NSUncut Coalition Against Austerity

The #NSUncut Coalition is proud to announce today that a street party
has been planned in honour of the victory achieved by Nova Scotia's most
rich and powerful. The passing of the financial measures act will soon
empower the Liberal Austerity budget to boldly cleave it's way through
this province's social fabric, sluicing money as it goes in the form of
tax credits and other subsidies -- all the way to the top.
Congratulations, million and billionaires: you deserve every penny.

We're very impressed by the smooth and sturdy control the chamber of
commerce has exerted over their political stalwarts. In fact we're so
overtaken with glee that we'll be dancing in the streets to welcome them
to their well deserved victory gala. Tomorrow is the international day
of the worker, tonight the bosses of our economy come out to play.

We're thrilled that the province is finally getting it's act together.
Why fund public healthcare, education, and social services when the
Royal Bank so desperately deserves to pay $22 million less? We know it's
hard times for common everyday million dollar national corporations
making huge profits. We know John Risley urgently needs another yacht
(to keep his other, smaller yachts in). It's chaos for the 1% in the age
of austerity. We can't wait to trim our belts, tighten the fat, and pull
our socks up by the bootstraps. As quoth Diana Whalen (in her infinite
wisdom) "You gotta pay to play". That's the kind of depth we've come to
expect from our brave political leaders. We're already paying, so it's
time to start playing.

We're delighted to be funding these economic innovations with cuts to
child dental benefits, seniors home care and other essential services
for youth and people living with disabilities. At long last they can
finally fend for themselves, freed from the burden of icky social
welfare.

We're simply mad with joy to be given the opportunity to fund such an
opulent gala as the one at the World Trade Convention Centre today. To
those who are attending, let's navigate this uncertain financial future
together. We'll be right outside if you want to join our party, we can't
afford to get into yours.
