Health providers to rally Dalhousie Medical School June 16th to protest impact of federal cuts to refugee health services
Demonstration in Halifax to be part of the 12 city 3rd National Day of Action
Health care workers in Halifax are responding to the federal government’s failure to listen to their concerns over cuts to the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) by organizing a third national day of action. Physicians, nurses, community health workers and many others from a number of different professional health disciplines will be participating in demonstrations in 12 cities from coast to coast on Monday, June 16th has resulted in refugees being denied important public health care services while sowing confusion within the health care system. Canadian Doctors for Refugee Care are using the second national day of action to pledge to continue their campaign to restore the refugee health care cuts through to the next federal election in October, 2015.
