Pleaded, Withdrawn and still up on trial

The rundown on the long list of charges thrown at Mi'kmaq Warriors Breau and Francis

Moncton, New Brunswick - Today was the first day of the week long trial of Mi'kmaq Warriors Germaine 'Junior' Breau and Aaron Francis. This morning we learned that Breau and Francis had pleaded guilty to a variety of charges stemming from several different arraignments.

They also had a variety of charges dropped.

They also have a variety of charges to which they have pleaded not-guilty.

For the sake of clarity, here are the following charges; pleaded guilty, dropped and still pending.

PLEADED GUILTY:

Aaron Francis -

From the original arraignment:

Section 129 - obstruction of justice

Section 270 - assaulting a peace officer

Section 733 - breach of conditions

From the December 5th arraignment:

Section 129 - obstruction of justice, section a and b

Section 117 - firearm related

Section 86.1 - careless use of a firearm

From the October 19th arraignment:

Section 270 - assaulting a peace officer

Section 733 - breach of conditions.

Dropped:

From the original arraignment:

Section 129 - obstruction of justice

Section 430 - Mischief

From the October 21st arraignment:

Section 279 - unlawful confinement

From the December 5th arraignment:

Section 88 - possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

Section 92 - possession of firearm who is not owner

Section 270 - assaulting a peace officer

Section 733 - breach of conditions

Still on trial for:

Section 88 - possession of firearm for dangerous purposes,

4 counts related to Molotov cocktails, including:

2 x section 81 - using explosives

Section 351 - lockpicking related

Section 117 - firearm related

 

PLEADED GUILTY:

Junior Breau

Section 86 - careless use of a firearm

Section 733 - breach of conditions

Section 264 - criminal harassment

Dropped:

Two counts of section 264 - criminal harassment

Section 89 - carrying weapon while attending public meeting

Section 92 - possession of a firearm

Still on trial for:

Section 129 - obstruction,

5 counts of pointing a firearm,

5 counts assault causing bodily harm

possession for dangerous purposes
