Two hundred fifty people occupied Grand Parade Square in Halifax to take part in the Occupy Together movement, which officially launched today in occupation and decolonization events across Canada.

Mi'kmaq elder Billy Lewis opened the day's activities. Other speakers included Occupy Nova Scotia organizers, high school students, environmentalists and small business owners in Halifax.

The following is a snapshot of the day's activities and attendees. Stay tuned to the Halifax Media Co-op for audio recordings of the speakers, and for continued HMC coverage of Occupy Nova Scotia.
