Jane’s Walk is a movement of locally led walking tours inspired by Jane Jacobs (1916-2006), a famous Canadian urbanist and activist whose writing championed a fresh, community-based approach to city planning. alking tours held in May each year are led by locals who want to create a space for residents to talk about what matters to them in the places they live, play and work. In May 2013, more than 800 Jane’s Walks were held in over 100 cities in 22 countries worldwide. For details on other events happening in Halifax, , see www.janeswalk.org/canada/halifax.
