We're students: we fight back.

Nova Scotia's Liberal government is in talks with university presidents about university funding and tuition fees. Unlike previous negotiations, they're not letting students come to the table. You can bet what that means: they want to raise tuition fees. Students already graduate with an average of $35,000 in debt. We can't afford tuition as it is, let alone more.

Students have the power to stop tuition fee increases and we plan to use it. Students in Nova Scotia have won tuition freezes, students in Newfoundland won a 100% grants program, and students in Quebec stopped a 75% tuition hike. We can do this. Dalhousie's student union just passed a motion to condemn tuition increases and not recognize the negotiations as legitimate if students aren't full participants. But our real power as students is strength in numbers. We're going to make our voices heard, and we're going to stop the hikes.

Come to the Dal SUB to be part of the action. We're meeting this Tuesday, Sept. 30th at 6:30pm on the first floor of the SUB.
