Everything you always wanted to learn about growing, preserving and cooking your own food!

Transition Bay St Margarets has teamed up with the Ecology Action Centre to host a spectacular learning opportunity on all aspects of growing, harvesting, storing, preserving and cooking your own food. Pick and choose the classes that you want to attend, learn about local organizations involved in local food, network with others and have an enormous amount of fun!

The Food Up!Skilling Festival will feature a common area for information, networking and announcements, along with breakout classrooms teaching aspects of four-season gardening and growing, container and vertical gardening, edible landscaping, edible wild plants, urban hen-keeping, pest and shade management, harvesting, seed saving & banking, food preservation (including canning, jams & jellies, drying, freezing, fermentation, herb drying, root cellars) and cooking your harvest from scratch - taught by well-known chefs.

$20 suggested donation ($10 under 30). No advanced registration is required. Lunch will be served for an extra donation.
