Jackson Katz, Ph.D., is an educator, author and internationally acclaimed lecturer who is a pioneer in the fields of gender violence prevention education and critical media literacy. He is cofounder of Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP), one of the original "bystander" programs. MVP has been widely influential in the U.S. and abroad and has been implemented in schools, community organizations, and all branches of the U.S. military. It is also the most widely utilized sexual and domestic violence prevention initiative in college and professional athletics in North America. Katz is the creator of the films Tough Guise and Tough Guise 2, and author of The Macho Paradox and Leading Men: Presidential Campaigns and the Politics of Manhood. He lectures across the United States and around the world on violence, media, and masculinities.
