The second annual Student Action Day Camp is an opportunity to strengthen social and environmental justice in our campus communities. It is a forum and series of workshops hosted by NSPIRG and supported by various student organizations throughout Halifax including the King's Students' Union, The Student's Union at NSCAD, The Dalhousie Student's Union and the Saint Mary's Women's Centre.
The goals of this yearly event are to provide a space for students to gather, a forum to share organizing skills and a platform to speak the stories of our struggles.
We aim to create a mutually-supportive community of activists who can draw on our collective knowledge in order to further the unique work we do as organizers in our respective communities.
This year's event will include a welcoming session to set the tone for the day, an opening panel of five young people who are currently working for justice in their communities, a lunch hosted by the Loaded Ladle student-run food co-op, skill-building workshops and a closing session to tie our knowledge together and build connections.
