A skill –building series on creative climate activism

Join Coastal Coordinator, Jen Graham and Energy Coordinator, Cat Abreu to build your skills for organizing, and participating in, creative and effective environmental actions.  Nova Scotia has a long tradition of creative activism - using public stunts, humor, and creativity to generate public interest and positive environmental change.

The workshop is designed to be interactive, inspirational, and practical. We will focus on helping you generate and implement creative actions for climate change actions. March 22nd is World Water Day, so March is a perfect month to organize events to highlight the connection between climate change and our water.

We are offering this workshop over 4 sessions, taking place between February 4th, and March 25th. Each class will feature: theory,  inspiring examples, stimulating discussion, and interactive activities, as well as opportunities to develop and get feedback on your own action ideas. Our expectation is that by the end of the series, at least a few of you will have organized or participated in a creative climate action event. Space is limited.  The workshop is free, but pre-registration required.(you can register now online, here!)

Our 4 part series will cover the following topics:

Tuesday, February 4th: Creative Activism in Nova Scotia

Tuesday, February 11th: Climate Change Basics

Tuesday, February 25th: Logistics, organizing, and promotion

Tuesday: March 25th: Assessing impacts, reflection and celebration

All sessions will take place at 2705 Fern Lane from 5:30-7:30 pm.

There will be no formal classes held on March 4th, 11th or 18th but there will be a space available for working on your actions, and to receive coaching and support from EAC staff.
