North End Matters: A Multi-Phase Project is a project that brings together university faculty, research staff, consultants, the North End Community Health Center, the Community Health Board, an African Nova Scotian Advisory Committee and community members to engage in the pilot project impact public policy and decision making around the social determinants of health in the African Nova Scotian community in the North End of Halifax. The project is interested in hearing what North End residents, agency professionals, business owners and other individuals have to say about how the Community Health Impact Assessment Tool could be used to advocate for healthy public policy in the African Nova Scotian community.
Community consultations started in July to discuss the project, the assessment tool and the health of North End community members.
