Independent Living Nova Scotia to host The Art of Disability Festival

On Thursday, August 1, 2013, Independent Living Nova Scotia is hosting a free art festival showcasing the artistic talents of people in the disability community. The event will highlight all aspects of the arts from fine art to performance art and everywhere in between. This will be a day of sharing, learning, and celebrating the diverse talents in our community.

 

The event takes place from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Alderney Landing Farmer’s Market location and is free and open to the public. There will be free pop corn, cotton candy and other snacks, as well as lots of great door prizes.

 

 Some of the day’s activities include:  a dancing workshop, face painting, games, arts & crafts table, singing, flamenco dancing, photography, painting, knitting demos, rubber stamp making, creative writing workshop and much more.
