CLOSE GUANTANAMO BAY PRISON RALLY

4:00pm
- 5:00pm
Mardi Mai 7 2013

Venue: Outside US Consul General Office
Address: Purdy's Wharf Tower II 1969 Upper Water Street

» More information

An action in solidarity of the prisoners on a hunger strike at the U.S. Guantanamo Bay prison. Canadians are concerned about these men and we want the prison closed. Today, 166 men remain in detention without charge or trial. These men have been held for upwards of 10 years without due process. President Obama has failed to live up to his promise to close Gitmo. We are going to deliver an open letter to President Obama through the US Consul Office in Halifax to close this shameful prison and to call on the US government to respect the rule of law and human rights.
