Ungdomshuset or "the youth house" served as an underground music venue and radical organizing space in Copenhagen, Denmark for 30 years before its eviction in 2007. This film chronicles the fight to keep the house, with footage from collective meetings, riots in support of the space, and the eventual eviction.
The struggle and defense of Ungdomshuset serves as a springboard for discussion on the need for anti-authoritarian autonomous spaces outside the grip of the state, the tactics we can employ to defend them, & how these spaces can advance struggles against oppressive social relations that prevent us from taking control of our lives.
