Please join Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives Senior Research Fellow Scott Sinclair for a briefing on the new CCPA report Globalization,Trade Treaties and the Future of the Atlantic Canadian Fisheries Friday, January 11, 2013. The Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Union of Environment Workers are proud to have provided support that helped make this report a reality.
Sinclair will present CCPA’s research on the broad scope of new trade and investment treaties, such as the Canada- EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), and their threat to fisheries regulation. At stake is the ability of Canadians to pursue public policies that curb domination of the fisheries by large corporations and help spread benefits more widely among independent fishers and coastal communities.
