The Paisley Chapbook Press is launching officially on the evening of the 27th of October at the Khyber. The Paisley Chapbook Press is a non-for-profit small independent press founded and run by students of Dalhousie University and University of King’s College. We aim to publish local poets and short fiction writers in little hand bound chapbooks.

The first series, slated for release on November 17th , will consist of four titles. There will be the verse of local poet Sue Goyette, the distinctly Nova Scotian flavour of Clay Everest’s poetry, the quiet fiction of Charlotte Bondy, and the lyrical prose of Marie Solis. A second series is slated for a February release.

The evening will be a casual mix of music and literary readings from local poets and writers. Although several writers are lined up to read, we also hope to keep an open mic approach for anyone who wants to read. The bar will be operating throughout the evening.

Readings will start at 8:30 and there will be music by Kerry Martin beginning around 9:15.

Admittance is free of charge, donations accepted. Open to all ages.
