Halifax, NS - The Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers (ACRC) is pleased to host Karen Walsh, Executive Director of the Office to Advance Women Apprentices, for a presentation. Walsh is from Newfoundland and her office works to positively impact the success rate of women in non-traditional employment. With the coming Ship Starts Here contract and other expected developments, Nova Scotia must do much more to encourage women to enter the trades.

"Women remain underrepresented in the skilled trades, and folks in Newfoundland are making real progress.  Nova Scotia needs to learn from this example," says Cathy Pike, a representative of ACRC.
