The 7th annual Homeless Marathon will once again serve up 14-hours of people-powered radio broadcasting cross-Canada on homelessness and poverty from sunset Monday, February 23rd, until sunrise on February 24th. The Marathon will provide an opportunity for homeless people & their allies to take to the airwaves, and allow a nationwide discussion on homelessness issues and possible solutions. The Homelessness Marathon is annually carried by nearly 40 radio stations. Listeners are invited to call-in with their questions or comments toll-free.

LIVE IN HALIFAX!

CKDU 88.1 fm in Halifax will be broadcasting LIVE from St. Matthews United Church of Canada, 1479 Barrington Street (at Spring Garden). Come down for hot food and drinks and discussion all night long. Call in toll free from 5 AM to 6 AM (AST) to be aired live on the Maritime hour of the Marathon. The theme of our hour is "Homelessness in the Maritimes". Homeless people and their allies are invited to come down or call in during the Maritime Hour, and have their voices heard across the country. We want to hear from all corners of the Atlantic!

In collaboration with the Marathon, the Weekly Roberts Street Stitch and Bitch will be having a KNIT-A-THON all night long at the listening booth, to raise funds for the Out of the Cold Emergency Winter Shelter in Halifax.
