'Strap Em On Strap Em Down': Partying For A Cause

Blog posts reflect the views of their authors.

Tonight from 9pm until we all turn back into pumpkins at midnight, the TransAction Society of Nova Scotia will be holding its 3rd annual 'Strap Em On Strap Em Down' age 19+ fundraiser at the Company House.

This night long party-for-a-cause will feature performances by the wonderfully talented Tanya Davis, members of the Halifax Drag Kings, the amazing Nolan Natasha, and more. Alongside these fantastic performances will be games, prizes, dancing and plenty of fun to be had.

Tickets for the event are 8$ in advance, bought at Venus Envy & Pretty Things Boutique, or 10$ at the door.

The TransAction Society of Nova Scotia hosting the event is a non-profit society dedicated to activism and awareness of issues facing transgender Nova Scotians, and frequently engages in fundraising to offset the cost of everyday items for trans people in need in Nova Scotia.

TransAction's services are open to people of any age.

The proceeds of the night's festivities (as indicated by the event's title, 'Strap Em On, Strap Em Down') will be used to purchase binders and gaffs to distribute free of charge to trans people across Nova Scotia. Some of last year's funds were used to host a hugely successful Trans Swim event last November, which gave trans people the opportunity to swim in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

Here's to a night of fundraising fun at The Company House!
