Listuguj chief visits sacred fire encampment, pledges a bus load of support.

ELSIPOGTOG, NEW BRUNSWICK - After 12 more early morning arrests, the events at the sacred fire encampment at the junction of highways 126 and 116 west, in Kent County, New Brunswick, took centre stage at the Atlantic Policy Congress' 'All Chiefs Forum', where the 38 chiefs of the Atlantic region had gathered for the two day session.

Interim co-chair of the Congress, and chief of Listuguj First Nation, Dean Vicaire, paid a visit to the encampment, which despite the arrests - and the RCMP-assisted passing of SWN Resource Canada's seismic testing trucks - remained in high spirits. Vicaire noted that the chiefs were supporting the action "100%", and that a statement from the Congress would be forthcoming.
