Solidarity Halifax 2

March 18th and 19th

Venue: Italian Cultural Centre
Address: 2629 Agricola Street
Cost: 10 dollars or pay what you can

In November 2010 the first Solidarity Halifax working conference brought together over 100 people to discuss building a mobilized, anti-capitalist Left in Halifax.

The need for this conversation came out of relentless, neo-liberal attacks against workers, marginalized people and the environment in the name of balanced budgets, austerity measures and corporate profit. It came out of growing assault on debate, dissent and diversity. And it came out of an understanding that the Right has come to depend on fractures in the Left.

Solidarity Halifax II will create another space to discuss these issues, and an opportunity for activists who believe in a better society to talk about how to get there.

The second conference will continue the conversation by asking: Where is the Left? What is solidarity? And how do we organize ourselves?
