This tour will give students a firsthand look at some of the wonderful local and organic food options that Halifax has to offer. We will begin at the Halifax Farmer's Market, then head to different businesses in the Halifax community. On the way, we'll be highlighting some of the issues around food sovereignty and discussing the student as an important figure in helping create solutions to these problems. This tour will go throughout Halifax showing you some of the secrets to eating locally, organically and healthily as well. Following the tour will be a wonderful picnic on the Commons (weather permitting) featuring some of the local food we have seen. Yum!
