Public Meeting: New Common Front for Housing Rights in NS

6:00pm
Tuesday May 18 2010

Venue: Bloomfield Centre
Address: 2786 Agricola Street
Cost: free

Last month, nearly 50 people attended a public meeting in Halifax to begin the process of building a Common Front for Housing Rights in Nova Scotia. The groups and individuals involved in this process are continuing the necessary work to reach out to other groups and communities.

We are holding another public meeting on Tuesday, May 18, from 6-8pm at the Bloomfield Centre (2786 Agricola Street) in Halifax to continue this work. The goals of this meeting are to work collectively on the guiding principles for the Common Front and to involve new people in its work.

We are reaching out to a wide range of groups and individuals because building a truly broad-based movement requires a wide range of perspectives and leadership. If you or a community, social, or faith-based group you are involved with is concerned with housing rights, we want to be working together with you. Please bring this information to the communities and organisations that you are a part of.

We see housing as one of the most pressing issues facing poor and working people in Nova Scotia. We want to work together on the basis that every person has the right to quality, affordable housing.
