What : A workshop on the topic of Gay Men’s Health & HIV Prevention in 2015. Areas touched on in the workshop include:
- HIV prevention – what that means NOW in the age of PrEP and TasP
- “Determinants of Health” as they apply to gay men
- health issues of particular concern for gay men
- building cultural capacity re working with gay men (and other LGBTQ folk)
For Whom : The workshop is for
- healthcare, social service, and community workers
- students in any of these disciplines will also be welcomed if sufficient room is available
- GLBTQ community members, allies and advocates
When & Where : Feb. 18th at the Parker Reception Room, 2nd Floor, IWK Health Centre, 5980 University Avenue, Halifax from 2 – 4 PM.

The Presenter : Chris Aucoin, MEd, is the Gay Men’s Health Coordinator with the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia. He has worked in health promotion and support (in the areas of HIV/AIDS and in mental health), in social justice advocacy and education regarding poverty and food security concerns, and in human rights issues as they pertain to gay/lesbian/bisexual communities.
