The Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council will be holding an action outside of the Liberal Party's $300-a-plate Premier's Dinner onMonday, November 17th at the World Trade and Convention Centre on Argyle Street at 5:30 pm.
Over the last year the Liberal government has repeatedly attacked the labour movement and the working class.
It started by privatizing public road building and gutting First Contract Arbitration, then continued by taking away health care workers right to strike with Bill 30 and Bill 37.
Then the government decided to legislate workers into different unions this Fall with Bill 1.
And this isn't all. The Liberals have frozen income assistance rates, shut students out of discussions on the future of our universities, and we anticipate an austerity budget with cuts to education and health care in the Spring.
So while the Liberals toast the most anti-worker Premier since the last Liberal government, workers, students and our social movement allies will rally against this right wing government.
Join us on November 17th at 5:30 pm, outside the World Trade and Convention Centre on Argyle Street. Bring flags, banners and noisemakers.
