o Early Childhood Professionals, recognition doesn't always come easy. Throughout the year the Nova Scotia Child Care Association organizes many initiatives to promote quality Early Childhood Education and the Educators who provide it.
On August 10, 2014 the Nova Scotia Child Care Association has organized an initiative that will span across the province of Nova Scotia. The province-wide ECE Awareness Parade was developed by the NSCCA Advocacy Committee. This Parade is a peaceful and fun walk ending at a family fun event in each of our participating areas. The goal of the parade is to raise public awareness of Early Childhood Education and the value of Early Childhood Educators. The Parade will take place in Sydney, Truro, Kentville, Halifax and Yarmouth concurrently from 1-3pm. Each location destination will have an event to greet them. Those interested in participating in the Parade coordinated in their region should contact their regional coordinator. The Parade welcomes anyone interested in supporting Early Childhood Education and Care.
The HRM Event begins 1pm at Victoria Park, on Spring Garden Road Halifax, and will proceed to the South Commons where there will entertainment, art displays/activities, and games. Participants will also have the option to go rollerblading at the Emera Oval, Swimming in the Commons Pool, or playing on the Commons Playground. Participants will be wearing red t-shirts, sponsored by CUPE, with the slogan "ECE Matters". For more information on the Parade and for a list of Regional Coordinators, visit the Nova Scotia Child Care Association website athttp://nschildcareassociation.org/provincial-awareness-parade/
