The right to be free from discrimination is fundamental in Canada. This session will talk about steps that you can take if your human rights are violated. In particular, the Nova Scotia’s Human Rights Act and services offered by the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission will be discussed, as well as rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Everyone is welcome to attend these free information sessions, but please register.
When registering, please let ISIS know if you need an interpreter. Let us know if you need childcare.

The Partners for Legal Education believe that knowing your legal rights and responsibilities is key to full and equal participation in society.  The information sessions also give the partners and presenters a chance to better understand cultural views by talking with immigrants and learning from their many different experiences.

The Legal Information Sessions give legal information only, not legal advice. If you have a legal problem or need legal advice you should speak to a lawyer.
