Background to the Security forum
The "Security Forum" is no small matter. It's a very key political
event shaping global politics, and does not invite public comment and
debate. It's cost is $2.5-million, which was covered by the Federal
goverment at the expense of Canadian taxpayers. The forum is a
component part of NATO's attempt to reconfigure itself. The NATO
Summit held six months ago in April 2009 in Strasbourg, France and
Kehl, Germany marked the official start of the elaboration of a "new
security doctrine." to replace their ambiguous "humanitarian" doctrine
The Forum will feature a rogue's gallery of Canadian, Anglo-U.S. and
European militarists such as Peter MacKay, Minister of National
Defence and the Atlantic Gateway; U.S Secretary of Defense Robert
Gates; U.S. Senator and presidential candidate John McCain, advocate
of the plan to replace the United Nations with a separate grouping of
states called the League of Democracies; Stephen Hadley, one of George
W. Bush's National Security Advisors; NATO's Supreme Allied Commander,
Europe; unnamed "global political leaders and leading experts on
pressing strategic issues"; and many more key officials, elite busines
representatives, think tanks and selcted media.
The topics of the Halifax conference include "Global Transatlanticism
-- Where the Allies Are"; "Securing the Seas"; "The New Great Game";
"The Laws of War: States v. Non-State Actors"; "Engagement with Bad
Actors"; "Partners and Problems: North Korea"; "Middle East Peace";
and, many others. The content is not of as much importance as the
authoritarian methodology NATO is imposing. The topics at the
conference take up issues defined by NATO's Strategic Concept to
justify allowing the aggressive military bloc to intervene anywhere on
the planet and in any sphere of life.
