All are invited to attend a special screening of the poignant documentary Road to Ortona on Wednesday, October 14, at Pier 21 in commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Italian Campaign.
During WWII, flanked by British and Americans, Canadian soldiers pushed into Italy including the 15th century town, Ortona. Road to Ortona looks at one of the fiercest battles, and explores Canada’s contribution to the liberation of Italy. Kirrily Freemen, assistant professor of history at SMU, will lead a discussion following the screening.
Show begins with special film vignettes, Heroes Remember, supported by Veterans Affairs Canada.
