Pamela Olson is an American writer, author of Fast Times in Palestine: A Love Affair with a Homeless Homeland. She grew up in small-town Oklahoma and studied physics and political science at Stanford.
Having visited the West Bank, she went to Ramallah to work as foreign press coordinator for reformer Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, who ran for the presidency of the Palestinian National Authority in 2005, finishing second to Mahmoud Abbas, with 19% of the vote.
From reviews of her book:
“A moving, inspiring account of life in occupied Palestine that’s enormously in-formative yet reads like a novel.”
— Rebecca Vilkomerson, Executive Director, Jewish Voice for Peace
“It’s love in the time of occupation as Pamela Olson takes us on the emotional roller-coaster of her very personal experience of life in Ramallah — and in doing so lays bare the human drama of a people determined to live free.”
— Tony Karon, Senior Editor, TIME
“I realize that without knowing it, I have long waited for this book, although I could not have imagined its lyric magic in advance of reading.”
— Richard Falk, UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories
"As an Israeli whose life was shaped by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I found Fast Times in Palestine moving and refreshing."
— Miko Peled, author of The General’s Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine
