Please plan to join us to mark National Victims of Crime Awareness Week (April 21-27, 2013).
With support from the Department of Justice Canada Victims Fund, the Community Justice Society is pleased to present a panel discussion, titled Offering Hope and Healing, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23.
Five speakers will offer their unique perspective based on personal experiences as a victim, as a person in conflict with the law, or as a professional offering support to victims.
Panellists include Shireen Singer, a clinical social worker with experience working with both adult offenders and with young victims; Toni Nicholas, a young woman who was bullied and now advocates for others; and Blair Ryan, a volunteer with the Community Justice Society and founder of the Empathy Factory.
