Outside the Irving Shipyard

3099 Barrington St., Halifax

(At the Niobe Gate Entrance near Devonshire Avenue)

A rally in support of Earth Day. The Harper government is spending $25 billion on warships at the Irving Shipyard and the Dexter government is giving Irving a $260 million handout. The federal and provincial governments should be investing tax dollars in a green economy to take action on climate change and to protect our air, water and soil instead of wasting billions of tax dollars on warships that are not a priority. Canada needs a green, peaceful economy for a sustainable future.
