Time: 9 AM – Noon Lunch will be served from 12-1 PM

Purpose: The Sisters In Spirit (SIS) Community Engagement Workshop is designed to educate participants on the SIS initiative operated by the Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) and to inform communities as to what tools are available to raise awareness of the alarmingly high rates of violence against Aboriginal women and girls in Canada. Participants will be asked to work together with fellow community members and the facilitator to create a Strategic Action Plan specific to their community’s strengths and needs.

Who should attend?: Aboriginal Leadership, Elders, Community Leaders, Police Officers, Victim Services Providers, Local Activists, Students.

A BBQ Lunch will be provided, please feel free to bring a dish to share. Child care is also available by request at the Dalhousie Women’s Centre. Registration is required (at no cost).
