GOVERNMENT FAILS TO RESPOND; JUST DAYS UNTIL ABDELRAZIK'S FLIGHT

Abousfian Abdelrazik's flight is due to leave Khartoum on April 3rd. After the purchase of Mr. Abdelrazik's plane ticket by almost 200 Canadians, in defiance of the government's position that they could face criminal charges (see background below), his lawyers requested that the government provide a response by Friday, 27 March so that necessary arrangements for his travel and accompaniment could be made for his scheduled flight on April 3, 2009. Shamefully, the government failed to respond.

A follow up email will be sent Friday morning (at the latest) to confirm whether or not this event will be required.
