A 2011 film by Lebanese director Nadine Labaki, Where Do We Go Now? is set in a remote village where the church and the mosque stand side by side. The film follows the antics of the town's Muslim and Christian women, heartsick over sons, husbands and fathers lost to previous flare-ups, in their efforts to keep their blowhard men from starting a religious war.
The women of the town's unwavering friendship transcends the religious fault lines of their society, and they hatch some extraordinarily inventive plans to distract their men, from faking a miracle to hiring a troop of Ukrainian strippers.
