On Thursday, February 19th, we’re inviting activists to see our new show Poor Boy at Neptune. In addition to having Neptune’s traditional pay-what-you-can-night and a Patrons’ Night, we wanted to have a night where we meet and mingle with progressive people making a difference in the community. We wanted to have an Activist Night.
We’re hoping activists from around the city will come together as a group, see our show, and meet at the Carleton (on Argyle Street) afterwards to mingle and share a drink together. Zuppa admires the dedication of so many organizations, from ecologists and human rights activists, to progressive provincial politicians to individuals fighting for changes to municipal legislation. We’d be honored if you can make it on the 19th.

Superstar Sherman Oakes has lost his lover, radical rock diva Ella Savant. Wallowing in despair, he sets off on a pilgrimage of excess to the hotel where she died.
With the music of his uncompleted breakthrough album providing the soundtrack, Sherman nosedives into self-delusion and self-destruction - but the people he meets along the way won’t let him forget the life he is trying to escape.
Based on the story of Orpheus, the musical Greek god who loses his wife to the Underworld, Poor Boy mixes rock ‘n roll with myth in a collision of classic theatre and contemporary music.
