7) Next Meeting
1) Future Skillshares
David Sparks is interested in helping organize a skillshare at the Black Cultural Centre for youth from Cherrybrook East Preston and North Preston on May 23. More details soon.
The Bloomfield Centre was also suggested as a location for future skillshares. Hillary will call and book dates.
2) Tabling at the Market
The only Saturday we'll be able to table at the Market is May 30. We decided we don't have much to loose (except $40) but that in order to make it useful, we'll need a large HMC sign for the table. Is anyone able to help make a sign? Hillary will help, but needs inspiration.
3) Fredericton Media Conference
Folks from HMC are encouraged to attend an Independent Media conference in Fredericton on the last weekend in May. Glen may be interested in going, if he does he can drive other interested folks. He'll let people know if he decides to go.
4) Financial Plan and Paying Writers
Over the spring/summer, Hillary will be working on the HMC/Dominion for about 10 hours per week and getting paid $375 per month. We currently have 19 sustainers at $20 per month. Once we reach 25 sustainers, we will be able to start paying one writer per month.
5) Story Meetings
Hillary will call the EAC sto see if we can have story meetings there. The first would be on May 11
6) New content
Hillary's working on a Lockheed in Halifax Story
Glen/Erica are still working on an Africville story.
Asaf is interested in doing writing on Atlantica over the summer
Asaf will try to post some stuff on May Day
Stephen is going to try to encourage groups to start posting their own events as he's being overwhelmed by event postings.
The new webinar will be up soon
7) Next meeting:
Tuesday May 12 at 4:30 at Alter Egos. (All welcome!)
