K'jipuktuk (Halifax) - On Oct. 19, the indomitable Dr. Alexandra Morton visited Halifax as part of a whirlwind east coast tour. Dr. Morton, whose defence of Canada's wild Pacific salmon has brought her into direct conflict with the farmed salmon industry, as well as the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, was the guest lecturer at the fifth annual Ransom A. Myers lecture in science and society.
Nova Scotia, no stranger to the harmful effects of large-scale salmon farming ventures, welcomed Dr. Morton with open arms, and she received the first-ever standing ovation at the Ransom Myers lecture series.
Please enjoy the following full recording of Dr. Morton's Oct.19 lecture. Reproduced with permission.
Keep up the good work over there!
Together we shall raise awareness.
