Ego to Eco
Ego to Eco

My homestay student told me a month back that his classes at that point became video conferencing experiences "Some of us put available graphic backgrounds behind our "Zoom" screens. I put the universe." He showed me his screen and sure enough, he looked like he was in a spacecraft in some distant galaxy.

Whether it's real or surreal, we are learning to cope with the ways of the aliens alienating us from all we knew before. Love takes on more alien forms as the norm: 'tuning in' for 'touch,' 'mug shots' for 'hugs,' "killing me softly" for 'kisses.' We desperately want our loved ones, but we are desperately wanted by alien forms: viruses are upon us, we're in a horror movie of our own making. How did this happen?

The web of life is a complex network of connective chains, as the doc, "Biggest Little Farm," (available on our new default activity, Netflix) illustrates. One chain we learned about in science was the "food chain." In a non-cyclical hierarchical way of thinking with the resultant simplistic way of seeing the prey/predator relationship, we have vaulted humans to the top, with "dominion over all creatures." Whoops. I guess this virus has encircled that in red.

Something the free mind of a Stephen King could have envisioned and scientists knew was coming round the bend has happened and so we're all corralled and chomping at the bit, especially those of us who never bought into hierarchies and human superiority--only biotic variety and interdependence.

I implore people in power to make the simple connection, based on science, regarding how our biotic world, of which we are a part, remains healthy. Some in Nova Scotia don't or won't. Why not? They went to the same schools as I did, studied the empirical method, were taught that science is the best way to understand sensate phenomena.

Ground control to the Major Toms: a message and questions from the non-sensate good particle in the universe. Here's the deal: It's called "Ego to Eco": protect, heal, rewild and respect ecosystems, build clean, green industry, make well being for all creatures (not profit for a few of your humans) the foundation of all pursuits, replace your wants with your needs, regulate your Big Boys to adhere to what we need to survive, not what they want to hoard and realize that we have to consider the biotic world, in which we spin, as having absolute dominion over us. Humility and kindness are the chips I will be planting in your beings from this day forth

What do you think we need for a new society after this is over? What won't we approve of? What has to go...to stay?
