Trash the System not the Climate

by some halifax anarchists

(K'JIPUKTUK) HALIFAX. On the morning of September 21 we (a small group of Halifax anarchists) stapled a banner onto a billboard on Gottingen Street next to the library. The banner read “Trash The System Not The Climate”.

We struggle; not only to shut down the tarsands or to prevent the numerous pipelines planned to snake their way across unceded indigenous territories. This is not just about shutting down the oil economy. This is about overthrowing their system, their system that never gave us hope, and their system that will never solve the climate crisis.

We have no hope in their leadership. We are not holding our breath to see what comes out of the U.N climate talks this week in N.Y.C.  We are organizing ourselves now, inspired by and in solidarity with indigenous struggles for self–determination and against the destruction of our planet.
