Students available to comment on 2016 Federal Budget

HALIFAX–Representatives from the Canadian Federation of Students – Nova Scotia will be available to comment on the 2016 Federal Budget immediately following its release on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. During a national lobby week and presentation to the Finance Committee, the Canadian Federation of Students recommended doubling the federal investment in the Youth Employment Strategy to create good youth jobs, increasing the Canada Student Grants Program by $725 million by redirecting funding currently spent on inefficient education related tax credits and lifting the restrictive 2 per cent cap on the Post-Secondary Student Support Program to fund all Aboriginal learners.
