Halifax LEAF, a branch of the National Women's Legal Education and Action Fund, dedicated to feminist litigation, education and reform, demands a repeal of Regulation 84-20 of the NB Medical Act.
Today July 18 marks the last day of operation of the Fredericton Morgentaler clinic. Regulation 84-20 bars publicly-funded abortion from being performed by a GP, in a clinic, and without the permission of two physicians. The closure of the clinic will result in 600 patients annually being forced to carry unwanted pregnancies.
A rally is being held in Fredericton at noon.
