It's that special time of year again!  The time when CKDU programmers across the land ask for support in the annual CKDU Funding Drive. This year's on-air pledge-a-thon launched Monday, and we're on the way to raising $25,000 towards CKDU operations this year. But we need your help to make our goal!

 

Here at Habitat, we've set a show goal of $1000 in pledges from our listeners.  I am writing to ask if you can support Habitat on CKDU again in 2013.

 

On this Friday's Funding Drive edition of Habitat, we will recap some of our favourite conversations from the past year. We heard about the fight to stop aquaculture expansion on the Eastern Shore, found out about the pollution problems of the surprisingly lucrative mink farming industry, and looked into fracking and the processing of fracking wastewater in Nova Scotia.  We hosted our annual roundtable on biking in HRM, and featured interviews about our transit system and how to improve it.
