Scott Jones benefit series: Gottingen Street for Scott Jones

The Halifax music community has come together to support Scott Jones with the help of Gottingen Street businesses. On November 28, Gottingen Street for Scott Jones will take over the Marquee Ballroom, the Company House, the Bus Stop Theatre, Alteregos, Menz Bar and Plan B for a night of music and performance with artists including Paper Lions, Erin Costelo, Rouge Fatale, Quake Matthews, Heather Green, Billie Dre and the Poor Boys and El Jones. 

Scott Jones is a 27-year-old music teacher from New Glasgow who was stabbed over Thanksgiving weekend, because of his sexuality. His spine was severed and he has been left paralyzed by the attack. 

The full lineup for Gottingen Street for Scott Jones includes:

The Marquee Ballroom 
This Ship, Moon, Billie Dre & the Poor Boys and Paper Lions. 
9PM – 2AM / $15 advance, $20 at the door

The Bus Stop Theatre
Neon Dreams, Quake Matthews and Cam Smith, Secret Guest and Uncle Fester.
8PM – 2AM / $15

The Company House
Dana Beeler, Jim Dorie, Irish Mythen, Kim Harris, Erin Costelo and Heather Green with Young River, followed by a dance party with Heavy Petting.
7PM – 2AM / $15

Alteregos 
Spoken word and performance with Deirdre Lee, Ardath Whynacht, El Jones and Hermit of the Woods, followed by a dance party with DJ Regalia.
8PM – 1AM / PWYC, suggested donation $10

Plan B 
Comedy Show featuring Bill Wood, Paul Warford, Andie Bulman, Ann Denny and Megan Mackay.
9-11PM / PWYC, suggested donation $10

Menz Bar
Drag and Burlesque Show hosted by Rouge Fatale featuring Felix Static, Vincent St. Grace, Clark Kunt, Luscious Lane, Farrah Moan, Eureka Love, Miss Magenta, Morph and Mr. Hott Metz, followed by a dance party with DJ Jo Riddles.
9PM – 2AM / $10

Advance tickets are available for Menz Bar ($10), the Bus Stop Theatre ($15), the Company House ($15) and the Marquee Ballroom ($15 advance, $20 at the door). Taxes and a discounted service fee will be added. Alteregos and Plan B are Pay What You Can at the door, with a suggested donation of $10. To purchase advance tickets, visithttp://www.ticketpro.ca/. A ticket from ANY Gottingen Street for Scott Jones event provides entry to ANY dance party, subject to capacity.

“Scott’s hope and message of positivity in the face of adversity is inspiring,” said event organizer Georgia Richards. “This event is an opportunity to support Scott financially as his whole life changes, and to celebrate his courageous spirit. It is also a chance to take a stand against intolerance - we won't stop speaking up, protecting each other and making our community feel safe.

Gottingen Street for Scott Jones thanks their generous performers and sponsors. With their support, 100% of ticket sales will be donated to the Scott Jones Trust.
