A Different Stage of Mind Turns Ten

by Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia

Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia encourages fans to support local celebrities’ fundraising efforts.

For the past 10 years, A Different Stage of Mind has rallied together brave community leaders, who give of their time and talent to support those living with mental illness.  It's a legacy of which they can be proud -- over $1.8 million raised, which in turn has been reinvested into communities across the provinces for mental health programs and support services.

On February 15th Carolyn Booth, Senior VP of Atlantic, BMO Bank of Montreal; Robert Logan, Director, Business Partnerships, Metro Centre; Pete Luckett, Luckett Vineyards; Denyse Sibley, Host of FX101.9 Country Music Radio; Jim Spatz, Chairman & CEO, Southwest Properties;
and Robert Zed (of ZedEvents) & the Men of the Deep Pockets, an over 70-member choir composed of many well-known maritimers will perform as musical and comedic icons for an anticipated sold-out crowd. They will continue to vie for votes and funds throughout the evening.

Leading up to the event, the Mental Health Foundation website offers opportunity for fans to sponsor their favourite star’s fundraising goal online and support the cause.

One in five Nova Scotians suffer from a mental illness. They are our co-workers, neighbours, friends, and family members. The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia believes that promoting awareness and understanding is the key to reducing stigma attached to mental illness and improving outreach and support. As this event shines a spotlight on mental illness, it illuminates the lives of those who so often feel alone or in darkness.
