Venue: Halifax International Airport Hotel construction site
Address: The Airport

Halifax, NS - Members of the Carpenter’s Union and the Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council will picket a new hotel construction site at the Halifax International Airport on Tuesday, January 31st.

The companies involved, Marco Group, Long Valley Forming, and Le Germain Group/ALT Hotels have decided to bring workers in from Ontario instead of hiring skilled Nova Scotian carpenters.

Nova Scotian carpenters have built almost all existing parts of the airport.

Our message to companies hoping to profit from the expected economic growth in Halifax is clear – Hire Local, Hire Union!

Demand construction companies Hire Local, Hire Union!
