Take Back Parade Square

Solidarity Rally With Occupy Nova Scotia

11:00ampm-abbreviation am
Samedi Novembre 12 2011

Venue: Parade Square

Occupy Nova Scotia needs the full support of all members of the community urgently. Please attend an urgent Solidarity Rally on Saturday November 12th at the Halifax Grand Parade.

As you will have seen reported in the media, Halifax Mayor Peter Kelly directed police to remove Occupy Nova Scotia protesters and tents from Victoria Park in Halifax on Friday November 11th (Remembrance Day), despite discussions which had taken place over recent weeks and the agreement of the occupiers to move from the Halifax Grand Parade Square temporarily to Victoria Park (Spring Garden and South Park) to accommodate both Remembrance Day and Dignity Day on the request of the Mayor. The Mayor’s actions today, by sending police into Victoria Park as wreaths were being laid for Remembrance Day, is in violation of both the spirit and stated intent of the agreement that Occupy Nova Scotia entered into with the Mayor and Veterans.

There will be an urgent  Solidarity Rally on Saturday November 12th at the Halifax Grand Parade Square:

Solidarity Rally for Occupy Nova Scotia: Saturday Nov 12th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Grand Parade Square in front of City Hall. Come join the occupiers to show your support and to oppose Mayor Kelly’s inappropriate police actions on Remembrance Day.
