Headstrong Anyan, a Somali refugee living in Canada with her two daughters is determined to build a good life for her family. However, her life changes for the worst when she is evicted and forced to move into a family motel located in a disreputable neighbourhood. Between a demanding job and the negative influence of the new neighbourhood on her daughters, Anyan comes close to losing everything she holds dear. A talk led by the film’s director, Helene Klodawsky, will follow. Film is presented in English. Film is rated 14A (mature theme). 87minutes. 105 seats; first come, first served.

Anyan est une forte tête réfugiée somalienne vivant au Canada avec ses deux filles. Elle est déterminée à bâtir une bonne vie pour sa famille. Cependant, sa vie sombre un peu plus  lorsqu'elle est expulsée et forcée de déménager dans un motel familial situé dans un quartier peu recommandable. Entre un travail exigeant et l'influence négative qu’exerce le nouveau voisinage sur ses filles, Anyan vient bien près de perdre tout ce qui lui tient à cœur. Une discussion dirigée par la réalisatrice Helene Klodawsky suivra. Il est classé 14A (thème mature). Le film est présenté en anglais. 87 minutes. 105 sièges. Premier arrivé, premier servi.
