Rick Clarke, President of the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour

MUSIC in the afternoon by NORMA MacDONALD as well as JOE MURPHY and the WATER STREET BLUES BAND

Join the Halifax-Dartmouth and District Labour Council and its affiliates for this year's Labour Day March, Rally & BBQ Picnic on Monday, September 6th , 2010.
 
10:30am -- Gather with Sisters & Brothers from unions & community organizations at the South Commons Triangle (at the Willow Tree), Bell Road, Halifax
 
11:00am -- Labour Day Parade March starting at the South Commons Triangle, Bell Road, Halifax (bring your union's flag and/or banner!)
 
12:00pm to 3:00pm -- Labour Day Rally & BBQ Picnic with fun for the kids! Speeches including Premier Darrell Dexter, Nova Scotia Federation of Labour President Rick Clarke, Halifax Member of Parliament Megan Leslie, Labour Council Human Rights & Anti-Racism Committee Chair Donna Mendes (CUPW). Musical entertainment by Norma MacDonald as well as Joe Murphy & the Water Street Blues Band.
 
Gathering for the March will begin at 10:30 am at the South Commons Triangle (Next to the pool on the Halifax Commons - see http://bit.ly/labourday for map of location), and the march will set off at 11:00 am. The free BBQ will begin at 12:00 noon. There will be face painting, cotton candy and snow cones for the kids!
 
MUSIC during the afternoon will be provided by singer-songwriter NORMA MacDONALD (originally from Cape Breton - see http://www.normamacdonald.com & http://www.myspace.com/normamacdonald) as well as JOE MURPHY and the WATER STREET BLUES BAND (see http://www.bluestube.com/joemurphy/ & http://www.myspace.com/joemurphythewaterstreetbluesband).
 
Celebrate Labour Day!
There will be entertainment for the kids, hamburgers, hot dogs, and fun for all!
